HIPAA Privacy Rule

Purpose: To introduce foodservice employees to the main concepts of HIPAA that effects the foodservice department, specifically the privacy rule.

Objectives: By the end of this training module, participants should be able to:

• State the purpose of the Privacy Rule of HIPAA.

• Review the concepts regarding the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).

• Review examples of PHI required when performing your own job.
