Flavoring Foods

Purpose: To provide you with a basic understanding of how spices and herbs can greatly enhance the flavor of foods. To give you tools to help increase patient/resident satisfaction and intake.

Objectives: By the end of this training module, participants should be able to:

  • Define the difference between spices and herbs.

  • Describe the two components of flavor and how flavor can be enhanced.

  • Explain how spices and herbs should be stored.
