The Globally Harmonized System (GHS) is a system for standardizing the classification and labeling of chemicals. It was designed by the United Nations and adopted by OSHA in 2012. Through this system, employers are required to train employees on the new label elements and safety data sheet (SDS) format by December 1, 2013.
